For SEO & content agencies

Walk into the renewal with evidence.

Penlid runs content operations across all your clients and produces a per-client before/after record — every change you made, matched against control pages, with the statistics stated honestly. Your client sees the work; what you paid us stays yours.

The renewal problem

"What did we actually get for that retainer?"

It's the hardest question in the business, and the honest answer has usually been a traffic chart with a hopeful arrow on it. Traffic moves for reasons that have nothing to do with you — seasonality, an algorithm update, a competitor's outage.

Penlid answers it differently. When we refresh six comparison pages for a client, we simultaneously freeze a matched set of pages we deliberately didn't touch — same traffic band, same trailing trend, and preferring pages under the same first URL path segment (the nearest proxy to a topic cluster a URL alone gives us) where the site has them, which is a tie-breaker rather than a filter. Four weeks later the report reads, for example: the pages we changed took 84.8% more clicks than the ones we didn't (95% interval 71 to 99 points, p < 0.001, 5 controls). Or it says the difference was inconclusive, and says so plainly. That is a claim a CFO can't wave away — and it's a claim no tool that only writes, or only measures, is able to make.

What you get

Built for a client book, not one site

Isolated client workspaces

Every client gets their own workspace, prompts, pages, credentials and history. Nothing leaks between them. Switch clients from one dropdown; run the portfolio view when you want the whole book at once.

Enforced on every endpoint

Client logins that show the work, not the bill

Invite a client to a read-only login scoped to their own brand: their articles, their citation figures, their ledger. What you paid us is withheld from every one of those responses — not the API spend, not the per-article cost — so the login is safe to hand over.

Seats, invitations and limits

Invite your team and your client contacts, each with a role. We don't send the email — you get the invitation link and pass it on yourself. Seat and brand limits come from the plan and are enforced when the invitation is issued, so you find out at the point of adding someone rather than on the bill.

Per-client economics

See exactly what each client costs you to serve — usage and spend, brand by brand — so you can price the retainer with the actual number rather than a guess. Archiving a client stops the jobs, and the spending, the same minute.

The arithmetic

What it costs you per client

Wholesale cost per client brand by agency plan
PlanMonthlyClientsPer client
Starter$3495$69.80
Studio$89915$59.93
Scale$1,99940$49.98

Against a typical $350/month content retainer, Studio is about 17% of what you charge — comfortably inside the 45–65% gross margin considered healthy for resold SEO work, with room for your own delivery time on top.

Honest comparison

What we don't do

Some of this you may already have covered elsewhere. Better you know now.

We don't white-label

No portal on your own domain, no logo on the reports, no scheduled, PDF or CSV reports, and no reseller sub-billing. Client access is a read-only login here, scoped to that client's brand; you buy the plan and bill your client yourself.

We don't do link building

No outreach, no placements, no digital PR. If off-page is the client's bottleneck, Penlid will show you that clearly — and then you still need someone else for it.

We don't do technical SEO audits

No crawl diagnostics, Core Web Vitals or log-file analysis. Keep Screaming Frog and Ahrefs. We handle content operations and measurement, not site health.

We don't guarantee rankings

Nobody credible can. We guarantee that you'll know what moved and what didn't, and that we'll tell you plainly when a change made no measurable difference.

Start with a prospect, not a commitment

Run the free check on a client you're pitching — no account, three a day. If the gap it surfaces isn't something you can sell against, you've lost nothing but a minute.
